Custom Crafts came to life in 1987 when Ruth was working in stained glass, creating customized stained glass window panels for her friends. For several years she would design and manufacture these panels.
In 1996 Ruth received a "Genie" rock polishing machine and went back to her first passion - rock cutting and polishing. Ruth uses the polished gemstones in her handmade, finished Sterling Silver jewelry.
Ruth earned her Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in November, 2004. She also has her Acredited Jewelry Professional diploma from GIA.
In 2006, Ruth & Stan started selling precious and semi-precious gems and items at rock & gem shows throughout Washington State.
